Back in action... FASTER

A large number of respiratory tract diseases are caused by viruses. Antibiotic treatment is not intended to treat viral infections.

If taken in time, as the first symptoms appear, PELAFORCE™ will relieve unpleasant symptoms, such as colds, coughs, congestion and airway pain. P. sidoides also has direct antibacterial and antiviral properties that have been shown in vitro.

It has been clinically proven, in studies with hundreds of patients, that P. sidoides will shorten the period of incapacity for work & school absence in children.

The Cold Facts

What does it mean to have a cold?

A cold is an inflammation of the mucous membrane in the nose, sinuses and throat. Colds are very contagious and are the most common infections in humans.

What does it mean to have a cold?

A cold is an inflammation of the mucous membrane in the nose, sinuses and throat. Colds are very contagious and are the most common infections in humans.

What is the cause?

Colds are caused by viruses in 95% of cases. There are more than 200 different types of viruses that cause colds, the most common of which are rhinoviruses. Often, multiple viruses that are causing the infection are present simultaneously.

A cold breaks through when there is an imbalance between the attacking viruses and the body's own defences. This mainly occurs with physical fatigue, stress, unbalanced nutrition, chronic illness or weakness in the autumn and winter.

How do I catch a cold?

A cold is caught by inhaling airborne droplets containing the virus or through contact with contaminated objects, where the viruses are then transferred through the hands to the eyes, mouth or nose.

How often do we catch a cold?

Adults contract an average of 2 to 5 colds a year. In children, this can rise to 6 to 10 colds per year.

How long does a cold last?

A cold lasts, on average no more than 7 to 10 days. However, some symptoms can last up to 3 weeks.

Do antibiotics help with a cold?

Colds are caused by viruses in 95% of cases. Antibiotics act on bacteria and are, therefore, of no use against a cold. Antibiotics can only be beneficial if there is superinfection (extra infection with complications) of bacteria in addition to a common cold.

What is the difference between a cold and a flu?

Flu is caused by the influenza virus and is characterised by more serious symptoms: a usually rapid onset of a high fever with a very sick feeling and cough. The high fever lasts 2-4 days and often causes headaches and staggered muscle pain. PELAFORCE™ prevents the complications associated with flu.

What can I do for prevention?

Washing your hands is the most efficient way to prevent infections. Wash your hands before:

1. Eating or food preparation

2. Inserting contact lenses

3. Applying skin care products

4. Treating wounds

PELAFORCE™’s powerful antiviral, antibacterial and expectorant properties work together to form an effective triple mode of action:

      1.    PELAFORCE™ rapidly mobilises the body’s immune system to destroy invading pathogens and interferes with the viral surface structure to prevent viral replication.

      2.    PELAFORCE™ coats the respiratory tract mucous membranes with a protective film to prevent bacteria from adhering to healthy mucosal cells and from spreading.

      3.    PELAFORCE™ increases the movement of cilia to loosen mucous, thus accelerating the removal of viruses and  bacteria from the body.

Used daily, PELAFORCE™ offers the whole family year-round viral defence and enhanced immune response to infections.
